San Marzano Tomato
This red heirloom has 5-6 oz fruit. Indeterminate and disease resistant. These plum, meatier tomatoes are almost seedless with fewer seeds than Romas. They are originally grown in a specific region of Italy in the volcanic soils. The San Marzano needs Lampadine2 in order to be certified organic. They look like long blocky red peppers but are firm with thick skin and lower H2O content. The plant has vigorous vines. Best for sauces and tomato pastes.
